Trend Alert: Clogs are in, but I maybe out.

NEWSFLASH:

Let’s talk about one of this fall’s biggest trends: clogs

I must warn you I’m slightly horrified. I think they are *gasp* ugly, and hard to wear!  Chanel brought’em back and now they are everywhere!  They’ve become mainstream, and exactly on trend for the fall. Target and Aldo have CLOG categories on their websites!

I have a few problems with these shoes

A) I’m short, when I wear them, I look like I have hooves and even shorter legs.

B) I’m confused how to wear these, I guess with pants only right?

C) I get horrific flashbacks to when I was 10 and had a pair of patent leather black glitter clogs. Oh Yes, I did.  While I loved them at the time, looking back that was a bad fashion moment!

D) I’m clumsy, I need a strap on the back or I’m gonna fall flat on my face.

I’m not completely sold on this trend and probably won’t participate!

What I really want to know is, what do you think? Are you going to wear clogs this fall/winter season? How will you rock yours?

P.S. I like the look of these “clogs” from Target though they don’t seem so “clog-like” to me.

Hhm…I see a visit to target in my future and at least 2 pairs of shoes!

5 Thankful Thoughts About Your Body Image

Thanksgiving is just a few days away loves.  And now is the time to name what we are thankful for!  I have plenty to be thankful for,  and I’m not gonna bore you with all, but I will share with you 5 things.

But first, let’s face it! American women have horrible body image’s!  Unless you’re a Victoria Secret model, you don’t think you’re perfect.  9 times out of 10 that I look in a mirror, I think something negative about myself.  Someone gives me a compliment, including my mom and boyfriend, and I roll my eyes, shake my head, or respond with a negative comment.  I know I’m not alone.   Every girl I know thinks she could lose a couple pounds, get that nose fixed, dye that hair, and more.  Here’s the reality.  Every woman/girl is beautiful.  There is something pretty abouty you!  You just ignore it or don’t even know it.  So the rest of this week, I’m ditching the negative thoughts and self-degrading comments! I  will be thankful for what I am on the outside.  I challenge you to do the same!

5 Thankful Thoughts on My Body Image

fall_beauty_smaller5.  I am thankful for my toned calves.  Which I didn’t even realize I had till my boyfriend mentioned it.  I guess wearing heels 4 out of 7 days a week, does more than just make me feel tall.

4.  I am thankful that when I change out of my oversize PJ’s in the morning, I feel skinny in my clothes for the day.  Stupid mind trick that works!

3.  I am thankul for my brown/slightly discolored eyes.  Because growing up, I wanted baby blues , and now I appreciate that my eyes make me unique.

2.  I am thankful for my freckles.  I have them on the bridge of my nose, on my elbows, and on my knees.  I used to do everything I could to hide them, now I think they are kinda cute.

1.  I am thankful for my body shape…waist, hips, etc.  Its not perfect, and I can’t really change it, (my hip bones aren’t gonna shrink!)  But learning to dress for my shape and accentuate the positive makes dressing fun again!

There are my 5 things that I am thankful for about myself.

What do you like about yourself?  Leave me a comment with your 5 Thankful Thoughts on Your Body Image!

As seasons change, I change others things too! Do you?

As seasons change, more than just the weather switches, we all wear to warmer clothes in darker tones and colors, makeup palettes change from dewy skin to a more matte finish, less bronzer more blush, and richer jewel toned eye shadows and nail color.

Well, same goes for my hair. I don’t really plan it but somehow, my hair changes with the seasons. As winter fades to spring/summer, my hair usually gets lighter with highlights, and as summer fades to fall/winter, my hair usually gets darker with the help of my preferred hair dye.

So a few days ago I made my transition to fall/winter with 6WNLight Chocolate Brown/Nonstop Chocolate by Clairol’s Perfect 10. I’ll admit it was darker than I expected, but I’m loving the color and getting more used it. Here’s my transformation:

Do you change hair shades season to season? Or are you a naturalist?

first fall edition: what are you wearing today?

Today actually feels “fall-ish”. Yay! So we must celebrate! What are you wearing today?

I’m wearing a Delia’s short-sleeve green/blue striped boyfriend cardigan with a white tank, black leggings, cheetah print flats, vintage double looped black glass beads, and rhinestone studs. My hair is straightened with a black patent leather headband.

WHAT ARE YOU WEARING???

Enjoy your weekend loves!
