Doppelganger Week-who do I look like?

Occasionally,  trends go around on facebook and everyone puts a phrase or link in there  status.  Well this week its “Doppelganger Week”

This guy, Bob Patel, decided to make Doppelganger week, which is “the week when everyone on Facebook replaces their profile photo with a celebrity that looks like them”

A few of my friends are already in on it and now have Katy Perry and Anne Heche as their profile pictures.  I’m torn between Reese Witherspoon or Jennifer Garner for mine.

I dunno I guess it’d be Jen G. for hair and eye color!

Who’s your doppelganger?

Social Network + Fashion=Obsession

With Christmas just around the corner, life is getting crazy.  I do apologize I haven’t been back sooner.  But I’m here today to rave on my new obsession.  And it didn’t cost anything!! *SHOCKER* Let’s play a little math game:

If you add a social networking site website like Facebook or Myspace, with millions of users, and the Do’s and Don’ts section of Glamour.com, with thousands of pictures of street style, what do you get?

Think of it as Facebook for fashion junkies!  And your new inspiration for pairing things together! (It’s my new obsession!)

Here’s what they say about themselves:

“Chictopia is a fashion destination website that answers the ultimate question: What looks good on you?

What defines you? It is your body shape, your skin tone, your age, and your style preference. By connecting style seekers to trend setters that are similar in shape, size and taste, Chictopia offers the most valuable resource for style inspiration and shopping guidance.” [About Us]

print screenIt allows you to upload pictures of yourself, your inspirations, your must-haves and more.  All of which can be rated for “chicness” and get feedback.   They also have their own publication “Everybody is Ugly, [which gives] style tips and shopping guidance.”  They allow boutiques to showcase clothing photos; you wouldn’t have to use your gas!

You can sign up or just stalk around the site. Once you sign up, you can rate photos, leave comments, visit the forum, and upload your pictures to your ChicBlog.  (This is what other users see when they click on your pictures.)

It is extremely user friendly and easy to use. (If you don’t want to sign up for a username, you can use facebook connect as a quick and easy alternative)  There are pictures from people all over the world too! So you not only get to see American street style but from all over.  It’s definitely a place for inspirations and sharing!  And an answer to my street style dreams!

So go take a look around, sign up, and get to uploading! Enter this referral code: FIERCE_GLAMOUR555 when you sign up! Let me know and we’ll be friends!

Do you think it’s a good mesh of fashion and social networking? Do you think its obsession worthy? Is it worth your time?
