Best Dress Ever. What’s your piece?

Do you have a piece of clothing that always gets compliments?  I do.  It’s a red patterned dress with flutter sleeves and a high waist. ( I ordered it off of …Just Best Red Dress!Add Jeans, who just opened a store in the Dallas Bishop Arts District, I’m DYING to go! Seems like you can’t order online anymore *crying*)  I got it last fall.

I’ve paired it with everything

  • a black blazer,
  • a boyfriend cardigan,
  • black tights/boots,
  • thick black stretchy belt,
  • thin patent black belt, a jean jacket,
  • any kind of black heel,
  • black wedges,
  • black flat sandals.
This dress is so versatile. It works with just about anything, can be dressed up or down easilDress Pattern (Close-Up)y and is one of my favorite dresses. Best bonus: I always always always get some kind of positive comment on it.

“Is that new? The pattern is so cute! I love your dress! That red is so cute! “

And most of these are from people that have seen it before!

Its nice to have a dress that I can always feel confident in.  Do you have article of clothing that makes you feel the same?  Explain away!

Christmas Honesty

The shopping season is in full swing as people rush to find the perfect gifts, and hope to receive the perfect gift.  TV Commercials are ripe with deals and sales. My favorites has been the Target ads, with the little girl who confesses all her bad behavior when she thinks her parents spent too much and her utter shock, when they reveal they haven’t.

In that spirit, here’s a little of my Christmas honesty: I’ve done most of my woman-with-giftshopping but still have a few people that are just difficult to buy for.  And I fear that I’m becoming a difficult person on other people’s lists.

The Reason: I don’t ask for clothes, shoes, purses, etc. from others because I’m so damn picky.  Last year, I wanted a pair of black boots from BF.  I wouldn’t let him pick them out, nor did he want to because he knew I would be so particular.  Of course, I knew the whole time what I was getting but I was ok with that because I knew they were perfect.  (After all, I did pick them out!)

This isn’t to say I’m not grateful!! No one has to give a gift and just the thought alone is meaningful. But I would never intentionally ask for anything fashion related because I am so picky and would never want someone to think I didn’t like their gift.  I don’t like hurting people’s feelings! *frown*  When people do give me those things, I usually end up loving them (example: My aunt got me a cardigan last year that has be come one of my go-to cardis this year!) But I would rather not even take the risk of (a) not liking it [me being picky!] or (b) disappointing someone.

So, I’ll stick to asking for movies, music, and tech gifts instead, which I know I’ll love! That way no one has to be shocked when opening gifts.

Do you have a Christmas confession? Spill away dears!

Oh, and in case you haven’t seen it here’s the hilarious Christmas morning confession Target ad!
