Real Nail Polish Strips in Laced UP

I’ve tried Nail Polish strips before…remember the Sephora ones? These are much easier to apply! I’ve only had them on for a day so I can’t tell you about how long they last yet. When you apply them, read the directions. Seriously, it is easy. Shape your nails, buff with the included file, and swipe with nail polish remover to clean nail. Apply as directed.

So easy to apply for a quick Salon manicure look. It took maybe 10 min to do it all. Just because it was my first time and I’m always slow on the first go around. I also applied a clear top coat to hopefully make it last longer. I found mine at Walmart, but they are also available at Target, Walgreens, and CVS for about $8. Cheap way to get incredibly CHIC nails!

The Nail File: China Glaze Crackle in Broken Hearted

New nails this week! I was able to find that awesome Crackle polish I mentioned last time and try it out. At Sally Beauty Supply, I picked up the China Glaze Crackle Glaze in Broken Hearted (Pink) and Lightening Bolt (White). This post shows the Broken Hearted.

I tried it over grey once (no pictures) and liked it. But this time I wanted to do to a little pink on pink contrast.

The first coat was Pure Ice in Jamaica Me Crazy. Kind a of a fuchsia/purple metallic color.

Then I applied the Crackle! I covered the whole nail, just as I would a base coat.

It works fast! In about 10 to 15 sec the crackle effect is finished. It is completely dry in about 2 min.

After two coats of Insta Dri, I was done!

Shine Beauty Guru Review: Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara

Our latest product to test was Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara, whew, that’s a mouthful!! So does it do all the things that are in its title?

Yes.

Simple as that. Let’s break it down.

Extreme: This mascara adds lots of length. I have short stubby lashes and they look nothing like my normal lashes. I love it!

Multiplying Volume: Talk about a fan of lashes. There is NO clumping here! Two coats of this and you’re good to go! It makes my thin lashes look full and thick.

This is some of the best mascara I’ve had in the last two years. The long wand allows careful application. ( I tend to be one of those appliers that gets it on my nose. But not with this stuff!) Plus, it lasts all day! From 7 am to 10pm, my lashes were full and my eyes looked bright.

The only downside is it takes careful application! Why?!? If application is rushed and you don’t allow sufficient drying time inbetween coats and the final application, a small blink will get little black lines on top and bottom of lids. Even with that in mind,, this mascara is going on my beauty must-list!

Shine Beauty Guru: best beauty advice I’ve ever gotten

This month’s beauty guru assignment was to reveal the best beauty advice I’ve ever gotten. I admit, I sat on this one for a long time. Till due day actually. I considered hair advice, skin advice, make up advice, and only one word kept popping into my head. My mom always told me:

SMILE

Sure, she always told to in pictures but it goes beyond just that. A smile lights up your entire face and your eyes. And face it, besides runway models, how many regular girls look good with a scowl on their face?! The prettiest girl can have a scowl on her face and suddenly she’s not as pretty.

When I smile, I feel more confident and I feel better about myself.

Don’t have perfect teeth, that doesn’t matter! The most unique smiles are sometimes the prettiest. Look at Georgia Mae Jagger! The fact that she loves her smile makes me like it too!

SMILE….its the best beauty advice I can ever give you. It boosts confidence, puts you at ease, best of all ITS FREE!!!What’s your best beauty advice?
