Dining Room Redo: Table and Chairs

This time last year I was moving out of my one bedroom apartment, colorfully decorated in bright furniture, to start a new life with my husband.  We still had the bright colored furniture up until last October when I finally decided to make our apartment a little more grown up.  (This post has been a long time coming!)

This is the transformation of the dining room table and chairs!

I love colors!  This table/chair set was a reflection of that.  I found all the chairs at Canton First Monday Trade Days and the table at a local flea market.  The whole “suite” was under $100.  After sanding and sanding and sanding and painting and painting and painting, I ended up with this set:

Black Glossy Top with Blue Ocean Breeze Legs

4 mismatched chairs in Totally Tangerine, Bauhaus Gold, Watermelon and Ivy Leaf

I also had a chandelier in the dining room like this one from Urban Outfitters.  Can you see it?  It was pretty!  I just looked through 2 years worth of pictures and could find a single one. *fail*

Hubs always said he like it and when we moved, he insisted that he didn’t mind all the colors.  But I felt we needed a change.  Something a little more  mmm…not necessarily grown up..but more cohesive for our new life….err..well more sophisticated at least.   I knew I kind of wanted a vintage type theme so I searched vintage food/drink posters.  I found about 5 *will show in another post* I loved and got a color scheme.  Golden Yellow, White, Black, and Bright Red.  Then came the “suite” painting.

Tada:

New White Chairs and a Black Top/Gold Legs Table.

Upclose:

More coming soon…..
